9 Years Old Today

This little pup turned 9 today!
He is still pretty spry for a 9 year old dog, and thankfully hasn't had any major health issues, knock on wood!
In doggie years, he is officially 63, the Dude said we should apply for medicare and social security for him.
I love this little anxiety ridden little furball and hope he has many more birthdays to come!

New Chicks in the Neighborhood!

I have been waiting for spring since we moved in! Not only for the nicer weather, and the chance to plant a garden. I have been waiting mainly for spring so we could buy some backyard chickens!!
Since we moved out of Utah I have been dreaming of the day we could get some chickens to lay fresh eggs. Fresh eggs are just so much better. They taste better, and look prettier. It's fun to go out and see how many eggs the hens laid. Having chickens is just all around fun for me.

We decided to get some Buff Orpingtons for our little flock, they will lay large brown eggs and will be golden-yellowish-brownish hens, or in other terms a "buff" color.
It has been fun to try out different breeds and see their different personalities, so I am intrigued as to how these little gals will do.

They are so cute when they are this tiny!!!

Fluffy little ladies!

My co-worker was kind enough to ask his neighbor if we could use his brooding pen for our little chicks. We will keep them in here until the coop is all set up and once it gets warmer outside.

Any one else getting some chickens for their backyard this year? I highly recommend it!!

Little Brother

I am exactly one week late, but it is never too late to wish someone a Happy Birthday, right??

Happy Birthday, little Brother.
You have been and are growing into one amazing man. Your hard work and determination do not go unnoticed. You are a wonderful husband to your wife and a fantastic Daddy to your little girl.
You are ever the example to me and to those around you.
I am proud to be your sister.
Love,
Me

Anniversary Trip to the San Antonio Stock Show

Hello!! Yes, I do still maintain this here blog, lately I have felt like I haven't had anything interesting to blog about or been in the mood to blog, hopefully I can change that. Everyday something wonderful happens, whether big or small.

Over the weekend, the Dude and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. We took a quick trip to San Antonio. We visited the LDS Temple there, went to the San Antonio Stock Show, saw Styx in concert, visited the Alamo and the beautiful river walk.
Though it was colder there than it was back in Idaho Falls, we still had a great time!

We enjoyed some delicious food, if you ever go to San Antonio you should definitely eat at Pollos Asados Los Nortenos, we got carne asada, but all the entrees look amazing! And try La Fonda on Main, get the fish tacos!! We also got to spend some quality time with one another, and even got to try out our Klymit air pads in one of the airports since we missed our connecting flight.
All in all an excellent way to celebrate our 9th anniversary!
